Job summary

TrulyHired seeks a Fire Science Instructor to deliver high-quality instruction and assess student progress at the Warren County Career Center. You will help students develop problem-solving skills and prepare for the workforce through engaging, standards-based lessons.

The role requires an OH license (Firefighter Training Level II) and an instructor certificate, with a willingness to pursue licensure if needed, plus strong communication, organization, and tech skills.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Valid Ohio Department of Education licensure in Firefighter Training.
• High School Diploma and 5+ years as paid Firefighter/Paramedic with EMS experience.
• Required Ohio DPS EMS instructor certificate (Fire Fighter Level II 240 Paid Fire Fighter Program, Live Burn instruction).
• If current teaching license is not held, willingness to begin educator licensure.
• Willingness to work with students and colleagues as a team member.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong organizational and technology skills.
• Valid Ohio Driver's License.
• Must pass criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Designs meaningful and sequential instruction with relevant learning activities to meet career technical program goals.
• Plans and implements lessons based on related curriculum, centered on the needs and abilities of students.
• Provides instruction to students and prepares them to earn an industry-recognized credential before high school graduation.
• Utilizes student data to inform and design classroom instruction.
• Promotes the program and recruits students through a variety of activities.
• Works with program advisory committee to advance program innovations and ensure program standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Adheres to the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators.
• Maintains a record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment; pass background check.
• Maintains compliance with Board policies and procedures.
