Solventum is seeking a Fire Protection Plumbing Technician to join our team in Brookings SD!

• Shift: 1st Shift (Monday - Friday; 7:00am - 3:00pm)
• Starting Pay: $35.08/hour

The Impact You'll Make in this Role

As a Fire Protection Plumbing Technician, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Running and maintaining facilities systems across various facility disciplines with a focus on mechanical Fire Protection systems (working knowledge of PIVs, Risers, Fire Pumps, and Fire Protection equipment).
• Maintaining all types of fire protection systems and plumbing requirements, including new installations.
• Testing of fire sprinkler systems including but not limited to wet, dry, and foam systems per NFPA Standards.
• Assisting or leading site audit walks with Global Risk Consultant (GRC).
• Assisting with mechanical and systems maintenance as needed.
• Possessing the ability to clearly speak, understand, and write in English to communicate effectively in both verbal and written contexts.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Possess, or in the last (6) months of pursuing, a technical degree in either a Fire Technology or Plumbing field

OR

• Three (3) years of work experience in a Fire Technology or Plumbing field

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Possess a plumbing journeyman license
• Possess a Certificate in Fire Protection
• Experience with Fire Protection control systems
• Working knowledge of electricity and basic test instruments
• Experience in a Manufacturing setting
• Scissor/manlift and/or PIV trained
• Effective "Hands On" techniques
• Ability to analyze, problem solve and implement solutions
• Works well on cross-functional teams in a continuous improvement (LEAN) environment
