Job summary

Talanto is seeking college interns for the Fire Protection Engineering department across multiple locations in the United States. You will contribute to life safety, fire protection, security and mass notification on diverse projects.

You will develop and review drawings, perform calculations, and assist with code analyses while collaborating with project teams. A strong engineering foundation and communication skills are essential for success in this internship.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles and construction technology.
• Read, analyze, and interpret technical drawings and codes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develops, modifies, and/or reviews drawings of systems or components, according to established standards.
• Develops plans, specifications, and inspection reports as needed on assigned tasks.
• Assist technically in resolving design problems, field investigations or inspections.
• Identify applicable codes and standards to reference in inquiries.
• Conduct and document basic building code analyses, egress analyses, fire detection reviews.
• Perform basic calculations such as egress size, sprinkler water supplies, and smoke control equipment.
• Effectively communicate with project team members, clients, and others.
