Job summary

Affiliated Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer II in Chapel Hill, NC to design fire protection systems for new construction and renovations.

You will work on sprinkler, CO2 and clean agent suppression, and fire alarm systems, applying NFPA codes and standards, and reviewing drawings. The role involves calculations, equipment sizing, field surveys, and preparing shop drawings, with collaboration across teams to meet project outcomes.

Qualifications

• FE exam passed or ability to obtain PE license in one or more states.
• Strong NFPA code knowledge and experience with applicable design codes.
• Experience designing fire protection systems for new construction and renovation.
• Proficiency in CAD/BIM software and engineering calculations.

Responsibilities

• Design fire protection systems for new construction and renovation projects.
• Prepare specifications and review drawings for sprinkler, CO2 and clean agent suppression, and fire alarm systems.
• Perform calculations, determine system sizing, and select equipment.
• Conduct field surveys and prepare/review shop drawings internally and externally.
