Cromwell Architects Engineers seeks a Fire Protection Engineer II to design and implement fire protection alarm and suppression systems, integrating them into building designs during construction, in collaboration with architects and engineers.

The role requires staying current with fire codes, coordinating with owners, and traveling to project sites for surveys and meetings. Strong skills in Revit, Bluebeam, and MS Office are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in Revit, Bluebeam and Microsoft Office skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, including multi-disciplined design teams
• Excellent communication and time management skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform calculations and design fire alarm, fire suppression, and life safety systems
• Prepare specifications based on design
• Review design drawings in relation to plans and specifications
• Analyze potential fire hazards in buildings and new designs providing recommendations
• Ensure all fire protections systems meet local, state, and federal fire codes and standards.
• Stay updated on fire safety technologies and techniques, conducting experiments and field tests to evaluate new systems and materials.
• Meet with owners and understand project requirements
• Travel: 10%, to project sites for surveys and meetings.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
