Job summary

Poole Fire Protection is seeking a creative fire protection engineer to join a fast-paced, team-oriented group in Oklahoma City or Kansas City. You will lead multi-discipline design including fire suppression, detection, and life safety systems, and conduct on-site inspections and acceptance testing in a client-facing environment.

Candidates should have at least five years in the fire protection industry; PE in Fire Protection preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years in fire protection industry.
• PE in Fire Protection Engineering preferred.
• Strong communication and project leadership skills.
• Ability to interpret NFPA standards and construction documents.
• Experience with field investigations and acceptance testing.

Responsibilities

• Read drawings, specs, and contracts; apply NFPA standards to projects.
• Lead design analyses: hazard classifications, occupancy, egress, hydraulics, and fire detection.
• Meet with clients; communicate design options and risk considerations.
• Perform field investigations and witness testing/commissioning.
• Manage project scope, schedule, and budget; matrix-manage team members.
