Qualifications

Heartline Staffing is recruiting an experienced Fire Protection Engineer for a full-time engineering opportunity in Fort Collins, Colorado. This position requires a licensed Professional Engineer with a Fire Protection Engineering license and significant healthcare-project experience to lead the design of complex fire protection, plumbing and life-safety systems.

Serving as Engineer of Record, this professional will develop comprehensive construction drawings and specifications, perform technical calculations and analyses, ensure strict code compliance, conduct field investigations and coordinate with architects, electrical engineers, clients and other project stakeholders.

COMPENSATION

FIRE PROTECTION & PLUMBING SYSTEM DESIGN

Apply advanced engineering concepts and practices to healthcare facilities
Perform critical system calculations
Perform Life Cycle Cost Analysis (LCCA)
Perform equipment selections for healthcare facilities
Develop job-specific specifications addressing medical-sector requirements

CODE COMPLIANCE

Ensure designs comply with applicable NFPA standards, including NFPA 13, NFPA 20 and NFPA 99
Apply applicable ASHRAE requirements
Apply International Building Code (IBC) requirements
Maintain technical excellence and code compliance throughout design development

ENGINEER OF RECORD & LEADERSHIP

Serve as Engineer of Record on assigned projects
Provide technical guidance to junior engineering staff
Mentor developing engineers
Maintain ownership of engineering design and technical deliverables

FIELD ENGINEERING

Conduct field investigations
Perform site visits
Conduct construction inspections
