Job summary

Coffman Engineers is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer with 1–3 years of experience to join our Scottsdale, Arizona team. You will work within a high-functioning, multi-disciplinary group dedicated to delivering excellence in fire protection design and life-safety analyses.

You will design automatic suppression systems, fire detection and alarm systems, perform code analyses and egress studies, and collaborate with CAD/Revit specialists on complex projects across various industries.

Qualifications

• BS degree in engineering or related field from an accredited college or university.
• EIT certification is required.
• Minimum of one year of fire protection engineering experience in a consulting setting.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Revit expected.

Responsibilities

• Design and specify fire protection systems with minimal oversight.
• Assist in managing CAD and production efforts on projects.
• Provide consulting on automatic suppression, fire detection, alarm, and life safety analyses.
• Conduct code analyses, egress studies, and smoke control reviews as needed.

Coffman Engineers is seeking aFire Protection Engineerwith one to three years of working experience, who is passionate about their craft, wants to work on a high-functioning team, and looking for an environment that promotes professional growth. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, have a desire to work and grow with a multi-discipline engineering team, and be willing to have fun.

You would be providing our clients with automatic suppression system design, fire detection, alarm and mass notification system design, life-safety code analysis, egress analysis, fire resistant construction analysis, smoke control analysis and special inspection as well as general fire protection and life safety concepts and research.

Skills, Knowledge, and abilities:

• Design and specify basic systems without continuous oversight.
• Assist in managing CAD and production efforts.
• Perform consulting services for internal clients, utilizing Fire Protection Engineering technical skills, including but not limited to: automatic suppression system design; fire detection, alarm and communication system design; code analysis; egress analysis; fire resistant construction analysis; smoke control analysis; as well as general fire protection and life safety concepts and research.
• Able to work independently as well as on teams.
• Possess intermediate level computer skills necessary for daily activities including email, word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, and a working knowledge of computer‐aided drafting and Revit, (fire dynamic simulation for fire protection engineers).
• Positive contributor to overall office and department goals, culture, and morale.
• Able to multi‐task and prioritize in a fast‐paced environment.
• Possess strong critical thinking, organizational, and analytical abilities.

Qualifications

• BS degree in engineering or related science from accredited college or university
• EIT (required).
• Minimum one year working experience in Fire Protection Engineering (consulting)
• General building construction knowledge
• Experience working with AutoCAD and Revit
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work on a high-functioning team

Expected Annual Salary Range: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00.
