Qualifications

About Us:CEMS Engineering Inc. is a 30 year old small business which provides multidisciplinary A/E services including Architecture, Civil, Electrical, Fire Protection, Structural and Fire Protection engineering.Position:CEMS Engineering, Inc. is looking to hire a Fire Protection Engineer with experience in all aspects of fire protection engineering. The candidate should have experience on the design and layout of building fire suppression and fire alarm/mass notification systems as well as building code/life safety analyses. The individual will be responsible for completing design calculations, plans & specifications on a wide variety of complex projects for fire protection engineering systems for facilities under the direct supervision of a Sr. Fire Protection Engineer. Candidates should have a sound technical foundation and have strong communication skills. The individual should have the ability to work independently and take initiative.Job Location:This position is located in our Summerville, SC office which is 20 minutes from downtown Charleston.Minimum Qualifications:
- General understanding of NFPA codes and standards, particularly NFPA 13, NFPA 72, and NFPA 101
- Building Information Modeling (BIM) Revit
- AutoCAD
- 2+ years of experience designing fire suppression and fire alarm/mass notification systems
- Strong communication skills
- Pass the Fundamentals Exam
Desired experience:
- BS degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related engineering field
- Professional Engineering License Preferred (NCEES FPE Exam)
- Federal government and Department of Defense experience inclusive of COE and NAVFAC
