Job summary

SpecPro Sustainment and Environmental, LLC is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to support NAVFAC Northwest in Silverdale, WA. You will provide design technical support for fire protection and life-safety systems for Navy facilities.

The role requires six years of design management experience and a four-year engineering degree, with knowledge of DoD fire protection standards, and strong communication skills. U.S. citizenship and security clearance readiness are required.

Qualifications

• Six or more years of design management and/or design experience for fire protection tasks.
• Experience with active and passive fire protection systems for various facilities.
• Knowledge of water-based and special-hazard suppression, life safety, and egress.
• Familiarity with DoD fire protection and life-safety requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• U.S. citizenship and valid driver's license required.
• Ability to pass background and security screening.
• Degree from an accredited engineering college.

Responsibilities

• Perform fire protection engineering for new and existing facilities.
• Develop and review analyses, plans, specs, calculations for fire protection systems.
• Support design and review of fire suppression, alarm/detection, mass notification, and life-safety systems.
• Review technical reports, designs, RFIs, submittals, and construction documents.
• Provide technical recommendations and construction-phase support.
• Coordinate with NAVFAC personnel and multidisciplinary teams.

Job description

SpecPro Sustainment and Environmental (SSE) is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to support Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command Northwest (NAVFAC Northwest), Planning Design and Construction Directorate, Design Division (PDC4) in Silverdale, WA.

The Fire Protection Engineer will provide design technical support for fire protection and life-safety systems associated with new and existing Navy facilities.

What You'LL Do:

• Perform fire protection engineering for new and existing facilities.
• Develop and review analyses, plans, specifications, calculations, and estimates for active and passive fire protection systems.
• Support design and review of fire suppression, fire alarm/detection, mass notification, smoke control, and life-safety systems.
• Review technical reports, designs, RFIs, submittals, and construction documents.
• Provide technical recommendations and construction-phase support.
• Coordinate with NAVFAC personnel and multidisciplinary project teams.

What You Bring:

Required:

• Minimum of six (6) years of Design Management and/or Design experience performing applicable fire protection engineering tasks.
• Experience with active and passive fire protection systems for a variety of facility types.
• Experience with water-based and special-hazard suppression, fire alarm/detection and mass notification, life safety and means of egress, and fire-resistance-rated construction.
• Knowledge of applicable DoD and industry fire protection and life-safety requirements.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and possess a valid driver's license.
• Must be able to successfully complete required background and security screening.
• Four-year degree from an accredited Engineering college curriculum required.
• Minimum of six (6) years of applicable Design Management and/or Design experience required.

Preferred:

• U.S. Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Fire Protection Engineering is highly desirable.
