This role can be located in Phoenix, AZ, Orlando, FL or Ambler, PA. It is an onsite role.
Base pay range
$110,000.00/yr - $135,000.00/yr
Qualifications:
A Bachelor of Science degree in Fire Protection/Mechanical
Minimum 8 years of work experience and shall be a licensed engineer.
Responsibilities/Skills:
- Perform engineering calculations and design systems in accordance with established policies, standards, procedures, and codes with minimal supervision.
- Apply practical knowledge and experience to resolve project-related problems and conflicts.
- Make independent decisions for engineering tasks related to assigned projects.
- Occasionally supervise subordinate personnel or assist other engineers/designers.
- Knowledge of discipline-specific codes and other building codes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Leadership skills to educate clients on design and project requirements.
- Meet with the Project Engineer and Project Manager to discuss design scope, schedule, budget, phasing, site issues, and design review issues.
- Work with Project Manager and Project Engineer to prepare design budgets and schedules.
- Estimate discipline hours required for project design requirements.
- Provide leadership and assign design job functions to designated designers, supervising their efforts to complete the project on time and within budget.
- Implement system types as selected by the Project Engineer and provide complete construction documents matching client and project team requirements.
- Review preliminary and final engineering designs with other disciplines for function, clearances, coordination, and final design selection.
- Perform a final review of engineering drawings.
- Client contact.
- Perform quality assurance on projects in coordination with technical manager or project engineer.
- Mentor and motivate Engineering designers I, II, and III, setting high standards and professional integrity.
- Ability to meet fast-paced deadlines while maintaining quality design.
Skills:
- Proficient in AutoCAD and REVIT.
- Proficient in Engineering Modeling tools, researching and writing reports/opinions.
- Excellent written and oral communication.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools.
- Excellent judgment and decision-making skills.
- Effective management of personnel resources – motivating, developing, and directing team members.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods, handle stressful situations, multi-task, and work under time constraints. Long hours may be required.
