Job summary

Dave Jones, LLC is seeking a Fire Protection Designer to advance on more complex projects and take ownership. You will design systems using AutoCAD, HydraCAD, HydraCALC, and HydraLIST, build hydraulic calculations, and keep projects on track with increasing independence.

You will partner with Project Managers on estimates, visit sites, and lead coordination meetings. The role offers growth toward a leadership path, mentoring responsibilities, and collaboration with field teams.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Design (not required if experience speaks for itself)
• 1–3 years of fire protection system design experience minimum
• Eligibility to work in the United States
• NICET Level II certification, or willingness to obtain it
• Working knowledge of NFPA standards, building and fire codes
• Hands-on HydraCAD, HydraCALC, and HydraLIST experience
• Experience with Project Managers on estimates
• Experience supporting Sprinkler Fitters in the field
• Experience leading coordination meetings

Responsibilities

• Design fire protection systems in AutoCAD, HydraCAD, HydraCALC, and HydraLIST, taking on complex projects
• Build hydraulic calculations and job specifications that hold up
• Keep projects on track and on timeline, working independently
• Partner with Project Managers on estimates, budgets, and margins
• Visit job sites to scope projects from the ground up
• Solve design problems as they arise
• Lead coordination meetings, sometimes solo
• Mentor Fire Protection Designer I team members
• Be a go-to resource for Sprinkler Fitters in the field
