Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. in the United States is seeking a Field Project Manager for our Fire division to lead complex alarm, security, and communications installation projects in commercial, educational, healthcare, industrial, and military facilities.

You will set up local project offices, define scope, manage schedules, cost, safety, and customer satisfaction, and report progress to management and customers. Frequent local travel is required; PMI-PMP preferred and NICET II within 1 year.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certificate or diploma in Fire & Life Safety, Electrical/Electronic; Security. Certification in Fire Alarm Systems preferred.
  • Project Management Professional certification within two years of employment in the position.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex fire alarm, security, and communications installation projects in various facilities.
  • Set up local project offices, define scope, identify risks, and allocate resources.
  • Manage schedule, cost, safety, quality, and customer expectations; present updates to management/customers.

What you will do

As a Field Project Manager, for our Fire division, you will lead complex fire alarm, security, and communications installation projects in commercial, educational, healthcare, industrial, and military facilities. Responsible for setup of local project offices, project scope definition, risk identification, projectmethodology, resource allocation, and facilitation. Manages schedule, cost, safety, quality, and customer expectations/satisfaction. Presentsto management and/or customers on project updates, project cycle, and expected results. Ensures projects are closed on time and in scope.

How you will do it
  • Coordinates and communicatesproject progression frominceptionto completion including design, permits, material delivery, labor schedules, and field installation.
  • Develops a comprehensive projectplan to meet schedules and budgets. Conducts Work in Progress meetings.
  • Understands and followsall published codes, standards, and unique project specifications.
  • EnsuresAHJrequirementsand departmental/SOX procedures are followed.
  • Coordinates change orders and works toward overall margin improvement on every job.
What we look for
Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certificate or diploma in a related field (Fire & Life Safety, Electrical/Electronic; Security). Certification in Fire Alarm Systems preferred.
  • Expectation thatProjectManagement Professional certification will be obtained within two years of employment in the position.
  • NICETLevel II must be obtained within one year of employment.
  • Proficient inMSOffice applications (Excel, Project). Ability to create Excel spreadsheets, reference data in other spreadsheets, and create macros isrequired.
  • Available for frequent local travel.
Preferred
  • 10 years’ installation experience in Fire, Electrical, or Security systems.
  • Project management experience.
HIRING SALARY RANGE

$85,200 - $117,150 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This role offers a competitive Bonus plan that will take into account individual, group, and corporate performance. This position includes a competitive benefits package.
