Job summary

US Federal Emergency Management Agency in Bothell, WA seeks a GS-13 level specialist to support the Assistance to Firefighters Grants (AFG) program. The ideal candidate will advise on fire hazards and related issues, and coordinate grant-funded projects in collaboration with FEMA’s Region 10 Grants Programs Division.

Job description

This position is located in FEMA's Region 10, Grants Programs Division in Bothell, WA. The ideal candidate for this position will have experience executing, planning, directing, coordinating, and evaluating the Assistance to Firefighters Grants (AFG) program and will serve as an advisor regarding fire and fire related hazards and issues. Experience as a volunteer or full-time firefighter and/or as a first responder is highly desirable for this position. The qualification requirements listed below must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

To qualify for this position at the GS-13 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following:

  1. Advising on fire-related programs, hazards, policies or training; and,
  2. Administering and/or managing grants or grant-funded projects.
