Job summary

Communications Engineering Company (CEC) is seeking a Systems Specialist to lead the physical installation of communications systems on project sites. You will guide a crew, ensure safety and quality, and collaborate with customers to meet milestones.

This hands-on, on-site role offers training and on-the-job certifications to grow into master technician and engineering tracks.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of technology experience at CEC or a similar company.
• 1+ years of leadership experience.
• Strong communication skills with a solid grasp of general construction or mechanical work.
• Knowledge of communications systems—audio, video, security, fire alarm, wireless, and data networks.

Responsibilities

• Lead the daily install plan on-site, keeping the work safe and on schedule to CEC standards.
• Review project details, plans, and milestones with the team and the customer before work begins.
• Run site walk-throughs to confirm locations and identify safety hazards.
• Inspect installations, correct issues, and mentor team members to prevent recurrence.
• Handle basic programming and configuration, and connect systems to the network as assigned.
• Build punch lists, test systems, coordinate customer training, and finalize documentation.
• Close out projects with customer walk-throughs and sign-off.
• Support service tickets and CEC's 24/7 on-call rotation as assigned.

As a Systems Specialist, you'll lead the physical installation of communications systems on project sites, including running the day-to-day work, guiding a crew, and making sure every job meets CEC's standards for safety and quality.

What You'll Do

No two projects look quite the same. Here's where you'll typically spend your time.

• Comfortable with a Windows PC environment (Excel a plus)

Preferred

• Safety-related certifications


• Industry certifications such as NICET, BICSI, or CTS
