Job summary

UCSF is seeking a Fire and Life Safety Technician within the Facilities Services Department. The role focuses on testing, inspecting, and maintaining fire alarm systems, extinguishers and sprinkler equipment, and assisting in installation and repair of safety devices.

The incumbent will work under the Fire and Life Safety leadership and support the campus environment, ensuring reliable life safety systems across UCSF facilities.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in a facilities organization or equivalent
• Clear verbal and written communication with campus departments, contractors and design consultants
• Ability to read, write and perform basic arithmetic calculations
• Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrated ability to give clear written and oral instructions
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Able to analyze problems, determine solutions and make decisions based on analysis

• Test and inspect fire and life safety systems and assist in installation, maintenance and repair of equipment
