Job summary

Rutherford County Tennessee is seeking a part-time Fire Inspector to strengthen community risk reduction, fire prevention, and code compliance across Rutherford County. The role protects life and property through consistent application of fire safety standards and practical enforcement.

Responsibilities include inspecting commercial properties for code compliance, reviewing development and fire protection plans, and recommending improvements to processes.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of NFPA codes, International Fire Code, International Building Code.
• Plan review capability and code enforcement judgment.
• Community risk reduction strategies and strong communication.
• Experience performing fire inspections.
• Proficiency with MS Office and FireHouse software.
• Preferred certifications: Fire Inspector I/II, Fire Officer I, ICC Fire Plans Examiner.

Responsibilities

As a part-time Fire Inspector, you’ll deliver strategic impact by strengthening community risk reduction, fire prevention, and code compliance across Rutherford County. This role exists to protect life and property through consistent application of Fire safety standards and practical enforcement.
