The City of St. Clair Shores is accepting applications for a Fire Fighter/Paramedic with the intent of establishing eligibility to fill both current and future vacancies.

Please note that copies of the documents listed below must be submitted at the time of application; failure to include them will disqualify you from the process. Applicants must meet the stated age, citizenship, and licensing requirements and must obtain required certifications within the first year of employment.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen and at least 20 years old.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Must have State of Michigan or National Registry Paramedic License and Fire Fighter I & II Certifications within first year.

NOTE: COPIES OF THE DOCUMENTS LISTED BELOW MUST BE SUBMITTED AT TIME OF APPLICATION.

FAILURE TO INCLUDE THESE DOCUMENTS WILL RESULT IN IMMEDIATE DISQUALIFICATION FROM THE APPLICATION PROCESS.

1. Birth Certificate
2. Driver's License
3. Passing test score with EMPCO. Schedule of testing available at https://www.empco.net/fts/
4. Paramedic License, if completed
5. Fire Fighter I and II Certifications, if completed
6. CPAT (Candidate Physical Ability Test)

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

1. Applicants must be citizens of the United States of America and be at least 20 years old.
2. Applicants must have a valid driver's license.
3. Applicants must possess a State of Michigan or National Registry issued Paramedic License and Fire Fighter I and II Certifications within the first year of employment.
4. The City of St Clair Shores shall not consider any applications unless the following documents are supplied with the application: copy of Driver's License, and Birth Certification
5. All Applicants must meet the criminal history requirements and background check requirements of the City of St. Clair Shores Fire Department

(Certification must be maintained throughout the term of the eligibility list)
