Job summary

Impact Fire Services in Waco, TX is seeking a Fire Extinguisher Technician to maintain and service fire extinguishers in residential and commercial spaces.

The role involves inspections, repairs, tagging, reporting, and documentation. Applicants need a TX State Fire Marshal license (FEL-B/K/A) and 2 years in fire protection, with strong communication and a valid driver’s license. On-site work with PPE is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of experience in the fire protection industry.
• Texas State Fire Marshal license in fire extinguisher and pre-engineered systems (FEL-B, FEL-K or FEL-A).
• NFPA and building/fire code knowledge is a plus.
• Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Valid driver’s license and professional appearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and preventative maintenance on various fire extinguishers.
• Repair, replace, fill and tag extinguishers as needed.
• Service and test extinguishers and complete reports.
• Document time worked and paperwork for tasks.
• Assist scheduling and completion of duties.
• Work independently with provided PPE.

Job description

Position is located out of our Waco, Texas district office.

The Fire Extinguisher Technician is responsible for performing scheduled or unscheduled maintenance on fire extinguishers in both residential and commercial spaces.

Responsibilities

Performance of daily, weekly, monthly and/or annual inspections and preventative maintenance services on various sized fire extinguishers

• Repair, replace, fill and tag all fire extinguishers
• Service and test
• Complete electronic and/or handwritten inspection reports
• Document time worked as well as all paperwork relating to assigned tasks in a timely manner
• Assist the scheduling and completion of assigned duties
• Ability to work independently and use provided personal protective equipment

Required Experience & Job Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Two years of experience in the fire protection industry
• Possess Texas State Fire Marshal license in fire extinguisher and pre-engineered systems (including FEL-B, FEL-K or FEL-A)
• Possess an understanding of NFPA and building and fire codes is a plus
• Able to communicate effectively; both verbally and written
• Possess a valid driver’s license
• Professional appearance
