Job summary

Patriot Fire Protection, Inc. in Tacoma, WA is seeking a Fire Extinguisher Technician to join our service and maintenance team. You will inspect, inventory and maintain extinguishers, ensuring readiness and adherence to safety standards, with a focus on reliable on-call support.

No prior industry experience is required—on-the-job training is provided. A High School Diploma or GED is required; Fire Safety Academy graduate is a plus. A valid driver’s license and clean driving record are essential.

Qualifications

• Must pass background checks and drug screening after conditional offer.
• Zero-substance (including marijuana/THC) policy applies due to safety sensitivity.

Responsibilities

• Ensure readiness of life-saving extinguishers through inventory, inspection, management and maintenance.
• Be our on-call guardian, ready to respond to service requests.
• Manage extinguisher lifecycle, including 6- and 12-year service intervals.
• Support various departmental initiatives as needed.

We’re seeking a dedicated Fire Extinguisher Technician to join our dynamic team! You’ll be the backbone of our service and maintenance department, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. You’ll have the opportunity to interact with a wide range of teams from the accounting department to designers and managers contributing to the success of our projects.

What You'll Do:

• Ensure the readiness of life‑saving fire extinguishers through meticulous inventory, inspection, management and maintenance
• Be our on‑call guardian, ready to leap into action whenever and wherever duty calls
• Master the art of fire extinguisher lifecycle management, overseeing crucial 6 and 12‑year service intervals
• Flex your versatility by supporting various departmental initiatives

Essential Skills We’re Looking For:

• Industry Experience: none – WILL TRAIN ON THE JOB
• Truck Driving experience a big plus!
• Education: High School Diploma or GED (Fire Safety Academy graduate a plus!)
• Physical Skills: Able to lift and carry 50 lbs with ease
• Safety Driven: Demonstrate an unwavering commitment to safety protocols, because lives depend on your vigilance
• Team-Minded: Able to collaborate effectively with team members, bringing an infectious positive energy that uplifts coworkers and furthers the Fire Extinguisher program
• Compliance: Drug screening and background checks will only be conducted after a conditional job offer is made. We evaluate criminal history based on its relevance to the job duties. Note: this is a safety sensitive role requiring a zero-substance (including marijuana/THC) drug screen result.
• Availability: Able to work 40 hours/week plus possess a spotless driving record and valid license so you can arrive on time and in style

Compensation:

$19.00 - $24.00 per hour
