Hanes Supply, Inc. in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Fire Extinguisher Technician. This full-time role assists the Fire Shop Manager during inspections and provides on-the-job training to become a Certified Technician, gaining skills to inspect and maintain extinguishers.

You will inspect, recharge and replace extinguishers at shop and customer locations, maintain a safe workspace, and operate testing equipment with care. Certification is provided; apply today.

Position Summary : Responsible for assisting the Fire Shop Manager during inspections at various locations and becoming a Certified Technician while obtaining the skills needed to inspect and maintain fire extinguishers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Inspects, recharges and replaces fire extinguishers in the shop and at customer locations.
• Maintains a safe and clean working environment free from hazards.
• Breaks down and scraps expired materials from the fire extinguishers in the shop.
• Operates the Air Pressure Test Machine, the Hopper Filler and all other machinery in a safe manner.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Must have a basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office, IT and computer systems.
• Must have a working knowledge of safety rules in a manufacturing environment.
• Must be organized and detail oriented and be able to prioritize projects and duties while working in a team environment.
• Must be able to respond quickly and calmly to emergency situations.
• Must be able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.

Level of Education and Experience

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalency, and a valid, unexpired driver’s license. Certification and training provided within the company.
