Job summary

Wynn Las Vegas is seeking a Fire Command Operator & Maintenance Dispatcher to monitor emergency systems and relay information to Facilities teams. You will respond to the Fire Command Center, log activities, and coordinate dispatch via phone, radio, and computer aids.

A strong emphasis is placed on safety, accuracy and guest/service excellence. Responsibilities include maintaining EST3 knowledge, scheduling work, and logging all dispositions while ensuring compliance with FCC records.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year experience in a high-volume dispatch center.
  • Minimum one year of dispatch, office, administrative, customer service or related experience.
  • Must be at least 21 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficient with a PC and Microsoft Office, especially Outlook; HotSOS/Opera a plus.
  • Fluent in English; a second language is a plus.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret safety rules and manuals.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and relay information and work orders to Facilities team under routine and emergency conditions.
  • Receive, log and report on work performed, in progress and requests for assistance.
  • Respond to inbound communication in the Fire Command Center as primary contact for safety issues.
  • Schedule work, support team members and maintain Wynn Las Vegas standards.
  • Dispatch calls by telephone, two-way radio and computer-aided devices.
  • Log disposition of calls in HotSOS and logbooks; inform relevant departments and agencies.
  • Maintain records, memoranda and required FCC records and safety logs.
  • Stay current on industry knowledge through continuing education and training.

Job description

The Fire Command Operator & Maintenance Dispatcher is responsible for receiving and relaying information, instructions and work orders to Facilities team personnel under standard and emergency conditions. The FCOMD will receive, record, and report on information regarding work performed, work in progress and requests for assistance. The position responds to all inbound communication in the Fire Command Center, serving as a primary point of contact for all facilities and safety issues. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: maintaining processes, scheduling work, supporting department team members, maintaining all Wynn Las Vegas standards, and ensuring excellent guest and team member experience.

The Fire Command Operator & Maintenance Dispatcher is responsible for a complete understanding of the Fire Life Safety EST3 Board and all its components.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for monitoring emergency alarm systems including but not limited to EST3 Fire Alarm Panel, Cheetah & Det-tronic Suppression Systems.
  • Knowledge and understanding of a Fire Command Center.
  • Must be familiar with the operation of a fire life safety system and all of its components including but not limited to: disable/override switches, A/V select switches, pre-recorded message alerts, normal/abnormal LED’s, identifying audio zones, paging system, fire phone, P.A.S. switches, identifying ALARMS, Supervisories/Ducts, O2 sensors LED’s, Fireworks panel, and Smoke Management Annunciator Panels.
  • Previous alarm monitoring and/or emergency dispatch experience desired.
  • Must be able to complete and maintain Dispatch course as a condition of employment following initial hiring.
  • Responsible for receiving and dispatching calls by telephone, two-way radio and other computer aided devices.
  • Responsible for logging all information regarding the disposition of the call into HotSOS, logbooks, etc.
  • Notifies fire department, internal departments, governing agencies and/or utilities of emergencies involving their areas of responsibility.
  • Maintains memoranda, records and files, including division activity records, labor logs, work orders, inventories, monthly activity reports and necessary FCC records.
  • Work with safety as a priority and follow department and company safety standards.
  • Maintain relevant knowledge of industry through continuing education and training.
  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
  • A minimum of one year experience in a high volume dispatch center is required.
  • Minimum of one year of dispatch, office, administrative, customer service or related experience preferred.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Requires proficiency with a personal computer including Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook; knowledge of HotSOS and Opera is a plus.
  • Must have previous experience with a Fire Command Center Fire Board Panel.
  • Candidates must be fluent in English and the ability to speak a second language is a plus.
  • Must possess outstanding organizational, interpersonal and administrative skills as well as excellent attention to detail.
  • Must possess the ability to read, analyze and interpret documents, such as safety rules, policy and procedure manuals, blueprints, drawings, maps and other related documents.
  • Must have the ability to write detailed instructions.
  • Must have the ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations.
  • Must have the ability to handle multi-phone lines while maintaining courtesy and professionalism at all times.
  • Must possess the ability to respond to common inquiries from other employees or guests.
  • Follows all company and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Deliver and maintain a maximum level of property-wide service and satisfaction.
