Job summary

The MN Department of Natural Resources is seeking a Fire and Aviation Technician in Cambridge, MN to support statewide fire aviation and training tasks. The role requires leading suppression activities, coordinating aerial operations, and maintaining forested areas to protect lives and resources.

Qualifications

• 4 seasons of wildland fire suppression experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with statewide helicopter operations, fire training, pre-suppression and suppression activities.
• Implement pre-suppression tasks at the Area administrative level.
• Suppress wildfires statewide and area operations to minimize losses.
• Lead helicopter modules and other fire personnel in suppression and training.
• Coordinate and conduct natural resource management activities such as aerial application.
• Conduct silviculture activities and maintenance of roads/trails.
