Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering preferred.
• 0-3 years of related mechanical engineering experience required.
• Experience in heavy truck/automotive systems preferred.
• Product data management utilizing CAD and PDM systems preferred.
• SolidWorks experience preferred.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes for efficient assembly and serviceability preferred.
• Knowledge of firefighting processes and equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops, maintains, and ensures conformance to corporate, customer, and regulatory sub-system specifications and performance requirements of existing products.
• Initiates and implements integrated hardware and software solutions to meet sub-system performance and reduce costs.
• Develops and monitors simulation, lab and field validation and test programs to assure performance.
• Participates on cross-functional teams to implement product and process improvements.
• Understand and apply vehicle regulatory requirements and standards (FMVSS, SAE, NFPA) to ensure designs are compliant.
• Create and manage detail drawings and Bill of Materials.
