Job summary

Midwest Fire is seeking a motivated General Assembler to support the assembly of mechanical components for custom fire apparatus in our manufacturing facility. The role requires using hand and power tools, reading diagrams, and ensuring safety and quality standards in a fast-paced environment.

This employee-owned company offers benefits, ESOP, and on-the-job training. Work hours are Monday–Friday 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, technical manuals, drawings, work instructions, and safety procedures.
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Basic computer knowledge with the ability to perform programming tasks.

Responsibilities

• Select and utilize appropriate hand and power tools for the assembly of mechanical components.
• Use measuring equipment such as tape measure, caliper, and micrometer.
• Mounting & fitting of components on body/tanks and mounting cradle on chassis.
• Finish body assembly to complete truck and perform pump testing as needed.
• Assist in quality control of completed truck and read truck specification documents.
