Job summary

TEC Carolinas, a Guardian Fire Services Company, is seeking a Fire Alarm Technician in Fort Mill, SC to install, maintain, and upgrade fire alarm systems across residential, commercial, and industrial sites. The role requires knowledge of fire safety codes and electrical systems, along with hands-on experience.

You will work with a team to ensure proper functioning, regulatory compliance, and timely updates to project stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of fire alarm systems, electrical wiring, and low‑voltage circuitry.
• Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and system manuals.
• Familiarity with NFPA 72, NEC, or IBC fire safety codes.
• 3–5 years minimum experience in installation, maintenance, or repair of fire alarm systems.
• Physical ability to work on ladders, in confined spaces, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Install new fire alarm systems (New Construction, Retrofit or TI) with control panels, wiring, sensors, and notification devices.
• Inspect and maintain fire alarm systems; perform repairs as needed and document activities.
• Modernize or upgrade outdated systems to enhance detection capabilities.
• Communicate status updates to the Department Superintendent after each service call/workday.
• Perform basic programming for electronic components of fire alarm systems as delegated.
• Collaborate with technicians, electricians, building managers, subcontractors, and inspectors.
