Job summary

Impact Fire Services in Mobile, AL seeks a Fire Alarm Service Technician to perform inspections, installations, and service on industrial fire alarm systems. The role reports to the Fire Alarm Manager and requires professional conduct and timely work.

Qualifications

  • Licensing and certification required by National, State and Local codes.
  • NICET Certification and/or 3+ years of verifiable work history; fire sprinkler experience a plus.
  • Experience in industrial applications preferred.
  • Ability to learn applicable installation, inspection, and servicing codes.
  • Strong work ethic and professional appearance.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and driving record meeting company requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide inspections, installations, and service on fire alarm systems in industrial settings.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and timely communication.
  • Perform routine inspections, scheduled repairs, and emergency service calls.
  • Diagnose issues, repair components, and restore system performance.
  • Document tasks and maintain compliance with codes and regulations.
  • Assist with scheduling and tracking of service jobs.

This position is located out of our West Mobile, AL district office.

This position reports to the Fire Alarm Manager. The Technician will be responsible for providing inspections, installations, and service on a variety of fire alarm system devices (primarily industrial) in a professional and timely manner.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients by addressing their inquiries, concerns, and service requests promptly and professionally.
  • Ability to work independently while providing excellent communication with customers, direct supervisor, and service team members.
  • The Fire Alarm Service Technician will perform both routine inspection, scheduled repairs, and emergency service calls.
  • Perform routine service and maintenance tasks on fire alarm systems in primarily industrial, and occasionally commercial and residential buildings.
  • This includes inspecting, testing, cleaning components, and verifying system functionality.
  • Identify and diagnose issues with fire alarm systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair faulty components, wiring, and equipment to restore optimal system performance.
  • Provides customer instruction on system operation and functionality.
  • Ability to manage job scheduling and job progress in an efficient and cost-effective manner, with a strong focus on quality.
  • Respond to service requests, must be able to accurately diagnose fire alarm system malfunctions and adjust, repair, or replace equipment as needed to bring into compliance.
  • Educate customers on fire alarm system functionality, best practices, and emergency response procedures.
  • Complete and submit all required task-related, activity, productivity, and other documentation in a timely manner.
  • Making sure all work complies with relevant codes and regulations.
  • Ensure proper Maintenance and care of equipment trucks, lifts, tools, etc.
  • Manage their time to complete the maximum amount of service, inspection, and installation calls while maintaining a high level of quality.
  • Achieve any weekly productivity goals assigned by the Fire Alarm Manager or designated Agent.
  • Learn applicable fire protection codes and obtain applicable state licensing.
Job Qualifications
  • Applicable licensing and certification required by National, State and Local codes.
  • NICET Certification and or verifiable work history of 3+ years desired (Fire Sprinkler Experience is a plus but not required).
  • Experience in industrial applications preferred.
  • Ability to learn applicable installation, inspection, and servicing codes.
  • A strong work ethic and professional appearance.
  • Excellent communications, and customer service skills.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company requirements.

Successful completion of a drug test and pre-employment background screening is required. MVR checks are required for all driving positions.
