Job summary

Power Design is hiring a Fire Alarm Systems Technician to oversee installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning of fire alarm systems on large-scale construction projects across the United States. You will serve as the technical adviser on programming and configuration, coordinating with the installation team and local fire marshals to meet code requirements.

The role requires 5–8+ years in related work, relevant certifications (Gamewell-FCI/Notifier, NICET) and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• 5-8+ years of related work experience, preferably with new construction, large commercial installations.
• Gamewell-FCI and/or Notifier certifications.
• NICET fire alarm certifications highly preferred.
• Proficient knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC), local codes, and construction safety requirements.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Willing to travel as needed and possess a valid driver’s license.

About the Position

As a Fire Alarm Systems Technician at Power Design, you'll have the opportunity to work for the largest distributor of Gamewell-FCI systems in the United States. You'll have access to innovative technologies in the field, including a fully-equipped iPad, and will be responsible for overseeing the installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning of fire alarm systems on large-scale construction projects.

• Act as a liaison between the project team, other trades, and customers, partnering with the superintendent and foremen to ensure production is on track.
• Work with local jurisdiction (fire marshal) to ensure code compliance.
• Utilize technology such as company-provided iPad and smartphone to ensure the job gets done on time, adheres to the blueprints and specifications, and exceeds customer expectations.

Offering competitive salary for appropriate skillset match: Starting at $23-33 hourly

Here’s What We’re Looking For

• 5-8+ years of related work experience, preferably with new construction, large commercial installations.
• Gamewell-FCI and/or Notifier certifications.
• NICET fire alarm certifications highly preferred.
• Proficient knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC), local codes, and construction safety requirements.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• As the regional subject matter expert for life safety and fire alarm systems, must be willing to travel as needed and possess a valid driver’s license.
