TradeSTAR, Inc. is seeking an entry- to mid-level Fire Alarm Installer to join our team. The role focuses on installing wiring, devices, and low-voltage infrastructure in commercial buildings such as hospitals, data centers, and schools.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of fire alarm devices, wiring methods, and system components.
• Familiarity with smoke detectors, pull stations, notification appliances, and fire alarm control equipment.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Install fire alarm system wiring, devices, and low-voltage infrastructure in commercial buildings.
• Route and secure fire alarm circuits per project specs and requirements.
• Assist with installing smoke detectors, pull stations, horn/strobes, and other devices.
• Mount and connect backboxes, power supplies, and system components.
• Assist with installing control panels and remote annunciators under senior tech supervision.
• Perform basic terminations and wiring connections using approved methods.
• Read fire alarm drawings, layouts, and riser diagrams.
• Conduct continuity checks, circuit verification, and basic troubleshooting.
• Support senior technicians during inspections, testing, and commissioning.
• Identify and report damaged equipment and installation deficiencies.
• Maintain organized cable pathways and clean installation areas.

What You ll Be Doing

• Install fire alarm system wiring, devices, and associated low-voltage infrastructure in commercial buildings.
• Pull, route, secure, and label fire alarm circuits according to project specifications and applicable installation requirements.
• Assist with installing smoke detectors, heat detectors, manual pull stations, horn/strobes, speakers, and other initiating and notification devices.
• Mount and connect fire alarm device backboxes, modules, power supplies, and associated system components.
• Assist with installing fire alarm control panels and remote annunciators under the direction of senior technicians.
• Perform basic device terminations and wiring connections using approved installation methods.
• Read and follow basic fire alarm drawings, device layouts, riser diagrams, and installation instructions.
• Assist with continuity checks, circuit verification, and basic troubleshooting using appropriate testing equipment.
• Support senior technicians during system inspections, functional testing, and commissioning activities.
• Identify and report damaged equipment, wiring issues, and installation deficiencies.
• Maintain organized cable pathways, properly labeled devices, and clean installation areas.

What You Bring to the Table

• Approximately 6 months to 2 years or higher of commercial fire alarm or related low-voltage installation experience.
• Basic understanding of fire alarm devices, wiring methods, and system components.
• Familiarity with smoke detectors, pull stations, notification appliances, and fire alarm control equipment.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
