Job summary

University of Houston is seeking a Fire Alarm Maintenance Technician to perform daily maintenance of campus fire alarm systems, monitor and service equipment, and support testing and relocations during remodeling. The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and at least three years of related experience, with specialized training in basic trades up to 18 months.

All positions at the UH System are security sensitive and subject to a background check.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Specialized training in basic trades or related area, up to 18 months beyond high school may be required.
• Minimum three years of directly job-related experience.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, inspect and service fire alarm systems on campus.
• Perform preventative maintenance on fire alarm systems.
• Troubleshoot problems and repair fire alarm systems.
• Install and relocate devices on campus due to remodeling.
• Participate in fire alarm testing.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
