Job summary

Siemens in the greater Philadelphia area is seeking Fire Alarm Systems Service Technicians to service and maintain commercial fire alarm systems in Smart Buildings. You will inspect, test, operate, and repair components per customer requirements and mentor junior techs during on-the-job training.

The role can be mid- or senior-level depending on experience. Candidates should have 1+ year (mid) or 3+ years (senior) in fire alarm systems; NICET Level 2 within 12 months; valid driver's license;

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in installation and/or maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems (mid-level).
• 3+ years of experience in installation and/or maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems (senior-level).
• Must obtain NICET Fire Alarm Certification Level 2 within 12 months.
• Must be able to read/understand design and construction documents.

Responsibilities

• Execute comprehensive testing and inspections for systems under maintenance agreements.
• Create detailed test and inspection reports based on code requirements and customer needs.
• Swiftly respond to, troubleshoot, and complete necessary repairs to maintain system functionality; report on activities completed, deferred, or requiring further action or material.
• Identify code and non-conformance issues, ensuring adherence to required standards.
• Quote small repair jobs and provide detailed parts and labor requirements to estimators and sales for large repair projects.
• Plan work with Lead Technicians and Supervisors to strategize tasks effectively.

Fire Alarm Systems Service Technicians

play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our Smart Buildings. You will be responsible for the service and maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems . You will ensure that components are inspected, tested, operated , and maintained according to the operational requirements of the customer . In addition to your primary responsibilities, you will also act as a mentor, providing on-the-job training to less experienced technicians, fostering a culture of growth and knowledge-sharing within our team. Our Fire Alarm Service Technicians are the face of Siemens, and your expertise and regular interaction with the customer will help keep their buildings and inhabitants safe.

This position can be either a mid-level or a senior-level Fire Service Technician depending on directly related experience.

As a Fire Alarm Systems Service Technician, you will:

You will make an impact with these qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

• 1+ years ofexperience in the installation and/or maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems (mid-level)
• 3+ years ofexperience in the installation and/or maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems (senior-level)
• Must bewilling andable to differentiate types/colors of wire,use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet,carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 poundsunassisted
• Must obtain NICET Fire Alarm Certification Level 2 within 12 months
• Must be able todemonstratethe ability to read/understand design and construction documents
• Must be 18 years of age andpossessa valid driver's license with limited violations; must meet eligibility requirements toparticipatein Siemens' fleet vehicle program
• Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school diploma or state-recognized GED; Associate degree in electronics or related field preferred
• 5+ years’ experience in the installation and/or maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems

The pay range for this position is $54,121 - $107,590 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
