Job Details: Job Location: Pittsburgh Air Reserve Station - Coraopolis, PA 15108, Position Title: Fire Alarm Systems Maintenance and Inspection Technician

Scope of Position

Inspect, test, maintain and repair fire alarm and detection systems to support reliable facility life safety systems. Maintain the readiness of facility fire alarm and detection equipment through planned inspection, testing and corrective maintenance. Coordinate with facility management, electricians and customers to control system impairments and restore protection. Verify that emergency repairs or adjacent maintenance have not damaged alarm equipment, and provide clear test evidence for quality review.

Tasks and Capabilities Required

• Inspect and test alarm devices and associated notification equipment.
• Diagnose system faults and perform authorized repairs, adjustments and programming.
• Document testing, deficiencies and corrective work; coordinate system outages.
• Perform work in accordance with applicable PWS fire protection requirements and UFC 3-601-02.
• Review system defects and inspection results and identify corrective work and replacement-component needs.
• Coordinate power isolation and breaker interfaces with the licensed electrician under required lockout/tagout procedures.
• Verify fire detection system integrity following water leaks, HVAC work or other nearby emergency repairs.
• Provide device-level findings and functional test results for maintenance records; do not perform HVAC, boiler or unrelated mechanical duties.
• Maintain required core-hour and after-hours availability; remain assigned to this position without additional duties outside its scope.

Mandatory Experience and Certifications

• Fire Protection License for Fire Alarms and Detection for the lead person responsible for inspection, testing and maintenance, as stated in F-TE-9.
• Applicable state-required training, certification and licensing.
• Demonstrated proficiency in the assigned trade under F2.2; no minimum years or specific NICET level is stated for this row.

Additional required capabilities and onboarding

• Ability to troubleshoot alarm/detection circuits and devices and document functional testing and restoration.
• Ability to coordinate impairments and electrical interfaces without exceeding the qualifications or authority of the position.
• Maintain required on-site core-hour coverage and after-hours availability for the assigned position.
• Read, write and speak English fluently when interfacing with Government representatives; provide current qualification records for verification.
• Complete required background/access processing, HSPD-12 credentialing and applicable onboarding/safety training before the assigned duties; complete the proposal’s Lautenberg certification process.
