Job summary

M.C. Dean, headquartered in Tysons, VA, seeks an experienced Project Manager for fire alarm systems supporting Data Center programs in VA and GA. You will lead commissioning, mentor field technicians, and manage scheduling to ensure safe, on-time project delivery.

Ideal candidates bring 12+ years in fire alarm or 10+ with an Associate degree, CPM scheduling expertise, and strong leadership and communication abilities; travel and flexible hours required.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in fire alarm systems or 10+ years with an Associates degree.
• At least two years’ experience managing security projects as PM, superintendent, or foreman.
• Proficiency with scheduling, cost reporting, estimating, safety, documentation, and QC.
• Experience approving monthly job cost updates and cash flow projections.
• CPM scheduling proficiency and reliable attendance at customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Manage all commissioning for the Data Center program (PITCO, Preliminary Testing, Final AHJ) in VA & some in GA.
• Mentor new technicians for field commissioning/testing.
• Schedule fabrication, PITCO, preliminary testing to final AHJ testing.
• Coordinate air sampling material onsite and release scheduling.
• Manage LSG daily onsite coordinator for interconnections (Fire Protection, Elevator, HVAC, Security).

Responsibilities

• Manage all commissioning (PITCO, Preliminary Testing, Final AHJ) for the Data Center program - mostly VA & SC while some assistance in GA.
• Mentor new technicians for Field commissioning/testing assistance.
• Assist with scheduling for Fabrication, PITCO, preliminary testing - final AHJ testing.
• Assist with getting air sampling material onsite to each specific building - scheduling and releasing material.
• Manage LSG daily onsite coordinator for all interconnections - Fire Protection, Elevator, HAVC, Security/Access Control

Position Summary

• Perform high level troubleshooting of fire alarm systems of all makes and models.
• Perform complex programming of fire alarm systems.
• Perform Commissioning of complex fire alarm systems
• Uphold the highest ethical behavior when dealing with customers, vendors, and other employees.
• Understand the contract, scope, specifications, drawings, and integrated project plan.
• Manage site logistics working with our Logistics Service Center
• Manage procurements and material releases against a bill of material working with our Procurement Service Center.
• Perform quarterly goal setting and performance target review with assigned technicians.
• Complete yearly technician performance reviews and goal setting within assigned timelines.
• Provide training and assistance to technicians as needed.
• Make consistent team-building management decisions at all times.
• Ensure all service technicians have all tools, trainings needed to perform job responsibilities.
• Maintain a field force in which all employees have the capacity to work and produce results, meeting or exceeding performance standards.
• Manage small to medium size crews, 5 to 10 persons
• Schedulethe project in logical steps in order to budget enough time required to meet deadlines
• Determinelabor requirements and dispatch technician to sites
• Monitor project budgets in order to ensure positive cash flow and to maintain profitability
• Inspectand review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, and other regulations

Qualifications

• High School Diploma with 12+ Years of Experience in Fire Alarm or
• Associates Degree and 10+ Years of Experience in Fire Alarm.
• At least two years' experience managing security projects as a Project Manager, Superintendent, or Project Foreman
• Experience working with management systems such as scheduling, job cost reports, estimating, safety, documentation requirements, and quality control.
• Experience overseeing and approving monthly job cost updates, productivity reports, and quarterly cash flow projections
• Proficiency in the Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling method
• Must have a history of completing projects under the estimated hours
• Requires reliable attendance at customer site during work hours required by customer
• Requires the ability to work a flexible schedule that includes occasional nights and weekends
• Strong Oral, Written and Presentation Skills.
• Demonstrated background working with multidisciplinary teams.
• Demonstrated time management and organization skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives.
• Strong MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint Skills is a plus.

Certifications Desired

• NICET Fire Alarm Systems Level III or Pass NICET Fire Alarm System Level III

Pay Range

USD $112,560.00 - USD $140,700.00 /Yr.
