Job summary

Pye‑Barker Fire & Safety, LLC is hiring for a field service role in Marlboro Township, NJ to install, test, and repair fire alarm systems in both commercial and residential settings. You will inspect installations for code compliance, perform system checks, and respond to emergency service calls.

The position involves maintaining documentation, working independently or in a team, and a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and out‑of‑town assignments.

Qualifications

  • NICET certification preferred; requires prior experience or training.
  • Knowledge of NFPA standards (including 70 and 72).
  • Experience with commercial and residential fire alarm systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills; able to work independently or in a team.
  • Clean driving record and reliable transportation.
  • Flexible with scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and out-of-town assignments.
  • Ability to display knowledge of fire safety principles, codes, regulations, and official documents.
  • Ability to lead inspections and report deviations.
  • Knowledge of applying and explaining applicable laws, codes, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in maintaining accurate records and reports.

  • Use personal protective equipment and follow company safety procedures.
  • Adhere to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy.

Physical Requirements

The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands or arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and is occasionally required to lift and/or move heavy objects. The work also requires balancing, climbing, grasping, hearing, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, repetitive motion, speaking, talking, and visual acuity.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Rate: $35 to $45 hourly, based on experience.
