Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety, LLC is seeking a Fire Alarm Service Technician to independently perform core technical functions for fire alarm system service and maintenance. The role requires reading drawings, troubleshooting, and adherence to codes and standards.

Travel to job sites is necessary, with opportunities to mentor junior technicians. Applicants should have a high school diploma and at least 3+ years of fire alarm experience, plus a valid driver’s license if driving is required for the

• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in the fire alarm systems within the industry.
• Strong understanding of fire alarm systems, components, and troubleshooting methods.
• Ability to work independently and manage assigned tasks.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
• If Driving Role: Must have a clean driving record and active driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and service of fire alarm systems independently.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues and implement corrective actions.
• Complete standard service calls without direct supervision.
• Interpret system drawings, specifications, and technical manuals.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment to perform required tasks.
• Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, standards, and company policies.
• Accurately complete service reports, documentation, and inspection records.
• Communicate effectively with customers, team members, and supervisors.
• Identify potential system deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment on job sites.
• Provide guidance and support to entry-level technicians as needed.
• Travel to job sites as required.
• Perform work in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.

The Fire Alarm Service Technician is a role responsible for independently performing core technical functions related to the service of fire alarm systems. This position is capable of completing standard service and maintenance tasks without direct supervision. The technician applies industry knowledge, troubleshooting skills, and best practices to ensure systems are operating in compliance with applicable codes and standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance and service of fire alarm systems independently.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, climbing ladders, and working in various environments.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
• Exposure to varying conditions including heights, confined spaces, and active job sites.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods.
• Work performed in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.
