Job summary

Manatal is looking for a licensed Electrical Fire Specialty Technician to manage the installation and maintenance of fire alarm, security, and access control systems in Michigan. Candidates must have an active Michigan Electrical Fire Specialty License and at least 3 years of related experience. Qualifications

  • Michigan Electrical Fire Specialty License (Active & Valid)
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Fire Alarm, Security, and Access Control systems.
  • Strong understanding of NFPA 72, NEC, and local fire codes.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, test, and service Fire Alarm systems.
  • Perform installation and service of Security, CCTV, and Access Control systems.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams.
  • Conduct system testing and inspections according to NFPA and local AHJ requirements.

About the job Fire Alarm Project Technician

We are seeking a Michigan-licensed Electrical Fire Specialty Technician to support the installation, service, and maintenance of Fire Alarm, Security, and Access Control systems across the state of Michigan. This role requires hands-on field experience, strong knowledge of applicable codes, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team on commercial and industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, test, and service Fire Alarm systems
  • Perform installation and service of Security, CCTV, and Access Control systems
  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and system layouts
  • Perform system testing, inspections, and documentation in compliance with NFPA and local AHJ requirements
  • Coordinate with project managers, inspectors, and other trades
  • Maintain accurate service records and as-built documentation
  • Follow all safety policies and job-site requirements

Required Qualifications (Must Have)

  • Michigan Electrical Fire Specialty License (Active & Valid)
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with:
    • Fire Alarm systems
    • Security systems
    • Access Control systems
  • Strong understanding of NFPA 72, NEC, and local fire codes
  • Ability to work independently and travel throughout Michigan
  • Valid drivers license and clean driving record

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with leading manufacturers such as:
    • Notifier, Simplex, Siemens, Edwards, Fire-Lite
    • Lenel, Genetec, Honeywell, Bosch, Avigilon
  • Experience with inspections and AHJ coordination

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and in ceilings
  • Standing, walking, bending, and kneeling for extended periods
