Johnson Controls in Charleston, SC is seeking a Fire Alarm Technician to maintain, repair, and install conventional and addressable fire alarm systems. You will read blueprints, use multi-meters, and perform inspections.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and 2+ years in fire alarm; strong communication, electrical installation experience, and the ability to work in physically demanding environments while passing background checks. Competitive hourly pay and benefits.

What you will do

• Knowledge of maintaining, repairing, and installing, conventional and addressable fire alarm systems.
• Knowledge of multi-meters, and/or decibel meters.
• Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools weighing up to 40 pounds.
• Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing a ladder, scaffolding, crawl spaces and above ceilings, etc.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, and operation/product manuals.
• Perform inspections and installation activities on electronic fire systems.

What we look for

• Required High School Diploma or Equivalent 2+ years of experience in Fire Alarm systems.

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $22-$32 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This position includes a competitive benefits package. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role.
