JOB DESCRIPTION
Fire Alarm Inspector/Technician
TheFire AlarmInspectoris responsible fortesting and inspection offireandlife safety systemsincluding, but not limited to, fire alarmsand specialhazardsfire protection systems.The Inspector will provideaccurateand detailedinspectionsreports with all proper documentation of improvements andcomplications andassistin sellingIFPservices for any identified deficiencies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure customers are serviced at the highest level of satisfaction through quality courteous service, and by applying experience,knowledgeand training.
- Thoroughly complete inspectionsinatimely manneras scheduled and interface withInspectionCoordinator to ensure that the customer receives the work per proposed scope.
- Working knowledge of alarm panels,devicesand critical components.
- Willingto coordinate between inspection deficiencies and servicerequiredto correct found deficiencies
- Perform routine inspections, testing, installing,servicesand preventative maintenance of life safety product lines
- Utilizes an online scheduling calendar to receive and understand the individual scheduled tasks, customer locations, andmaintainother company documents asrequired(timesheets, safety audits, etc.).
- Maintain positive customer relationships and review inspection results withcustomers.
- Turn in required paperworkin a timely manner.
- Maintain equipment,suppliesand companyvehicles(if supplied) ingood workingorder.
- Study and learn NFPA standards for the inspection and testing of fire protection systems. Stay current with code requirements, industry changes, and obtain NICET certifications.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Any trade experience is a plus; at least 2 years' trade experiencerequired.
- NICET LevelI,II or IIIpreferred or the ability to receive (IFP will absorb the costs of certifications) infire alarmtest and inspections
- Good verbal / written communication and customer service skills.
- Mechanical & math aptitude.
- Exceptional computer skills, professional and organized.
- Previousexperience in the fire protection industry preferred.
- Valid state Driver’s Licenserequired.
- Willing to pass post-offer drug screen,referenceand background check
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in fire alarm inspection testing, maintenance and installation ispreferred.
- NICET Certification ispreferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Industrial, Commercial, & Residential building environment with moderate to high noise levels, and comfort with working at heights.
- Mostly aphysicaldemanding role.
- Regular bending, reaching,climbingand walking.
- May need to lift objects up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to be on the phone and computer consistently throughout the day.
