Job summary

Century Fire Protection in Round Rock, TX is seeking a knowledgeable fire alarm technician to inspect, test, and service life safety systems in commercial and industrial settings. You will diagnose issues, repair malfunctions, and verify panel configurations to ensure code compliance.

The role requires a high school diploma with technical training or certifications preferred, 1–3 years of experience, and NICET consideration depending on state regulatory requirements. On-call rotations may apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Technical training or certifications preferred
• 1–3 years of experience servicing fire alarm or life safety systems preferred
• NICET certification in Fire Alarm Systems preferred or required by state
• Strong working knowledge of NFPA 72, NEC, and local fire codes

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, testing, maintenance, and repairs on fire alarm and life safety systems in accordance with NFPA standards and local codes
• Diagnose system issues, identify malfunctions, and complete timely repairs
• Program, configure, and verify fire alarm control panels and related devices
• Complete detailed service reports and compliance forms
• Maintain accurate records of system work and deficiencies
• Communicate with customers regarding system status and code compliance
• Coordinate with project managers, service coordinators, and inspectors as needed
• Ensure tools, test equipment, and service vehicles are maintained
• Participate in on-call rotation and emergency service response
