Associated Fire Protection, Inc. is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Designer in Clayton, NC to join its AFP Fire Alarm division. You will design fire alarm systems, produce shop drawings, and coordinate with other trades while being mentored toward a broader Preconstruction role and potential sales responsibilities.

Qualifications

• NICET Level III in Fire Alarm Systems preferred; strong Level II candidates considered.
• Experience producing fire alarm shop drawings and construction documents.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, electrical, and construction plans.
• On-site work in Clayton, NC; strong communication and organization required.

Responsibilities

• Design fire alarm systems and produce code-compliant shop drawings.
• Review architectural, electrical, and construction documents.
• Coordinate fire alarm designs with other trades and building systems.
• Support permitting, revisions, and AHJ requirements.
• Collaborate with Preconstruction, Project Management, and field personnel.
• Develop estimating, scoping, proposal development, and preconstruction knowledge.
