Job summary

IAP World Services, an Intrepid Global Solutions company, is seeking a Fire Alarm and Suppression Technician to inspect, service, and repair fire alarm and suppression systems in facilities across Virginia. The role requires NICET Level III or IV, a high school diploma, and at least five years in fire protection/life safety.

Strong reading of plans and independent as well as team work are essential. Active Top Secret SCI W/ CI Poly clearance is required.

Qualifications

• NFPA Fire Code knowledge and UFC codes understanding.
• Able to read, interpret, and apply system design drawings and construction docs.
• Independent and team-based execution of fire sprinkler system maintenance, testing, and repairs.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, service, maintain, and repair fire alarm and suppression systems.
• Identify hazards and need for adjustments or repairs.
• Ensure work complies with relevant codes.
• Develop procedures to prevent recurring defects.

As the Fire Alarm and Suppression Technician , you will perform routine and complex maintenance and repairs on various fire alarms systems and suppression equipment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• The purpose of this position is to inspect, service, maintain, repair fire alarm and suppression systems.
• Identifies hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
• Ensure that work is in accordance with relevant codes.
• Shall develop and implement procedures to identify and prevent defective services from recurring.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• NICET Certified Level III or IV required
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Minimum five (5) years of experience in the Fire Protection/Life Safety Industry including:

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

• High level of knowledge & application of the National Fire Alarm Code and pertinent UFC codes.
• Must be thoroughly capable of reading, interpreting, and applying system design plans, as well as building construction drawings and documents.
• Ability and willingness to work independently and as a team member on all aspects of fire sprinkler systems, including maintenance, testing, repairs, and troubleshooting
