Meet the Team

Splunk Cloud FinOps helps Cisco turn public cloud and AI consumption into measurable business value through cost visibility, commitment management, and financial accountability. Our U.S.-based team includes three FinOps practitioners, a Scrum Master, two engineers, a technical lead, and a Senior FinOps Manager. We work across engineering, finance, architecture, and product teams to connect technical decisions with cloud gross margin outcomes. The team is highly collaborative, innovative, fast-paced, and deeply skilled in cloud technology and financial management. Our next area of growth is AI enablement, both applying AI to FinOps work and building stronger cost management for token-based services.

Your Impact

Lead the analysis and execution of AWS Savings Plan purchases to improve commitment coverage while managing utilization and overcommitment risk. Translate public cloud and AI token-based spend into financial insights that support Splunk Cloud gross margin. Drive cost optimization across AWS, Azure, and GCP by partnering with engineering, finance, architecture, and product teams. Build forecasts, dashboards, and executive-ready reporting that make spending trends, savings, and risks clear and actionable. Measure success through sustained improvement in Savings Plan coverage, sound commitment decisions, and realized cost efficiencies while operating as an individual contributor with no direct reports.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelors + 5 years of related experience, or Masters + 3 years of related experience,
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in FinOps, cloud financial management, or enterprise cloud cost management, including hands‑on AWS cost management.
  • Hands‑on experience analyzing AWS Reservations and Savings Plans, including purchase sizing, coverage, utilization, and overcommitment risk.
  • Hands on experience building cloud forecasts, budgets, cost models, dashboards, and analyses using advanced Excel or Google Sheets capabilities, including pivot tables and complex formulas.
  • Ability to obtain a FinOps Certified Practitioner or FinOps Certified Professional credential within 90 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing cloud costs in Azure or GCP in addition to AWS.
  • Experience with Cloudability, CloudHealth, Flexera, or comparable enterprise cloud cost-management platforms.
  • Experience using Amazon Athena, SQL, Python, business intelligence tools, or cloud billing APIs for cost analysis and reporting.
  • Experience managing AI and token-based consumption or applying AI to FinOps analysis, anomaly detection, forecasting, automation, or reporting.
  • Experience leading cross‑functional FinOps initiatives in a large, complex enterprise, especially within infrastructure architecture, software engineering, SRE, or DevOps environments.
