Job summary

Pacer Group’s Cloud Infrastructure and Finance team is seeking a Cost Optimization Analyst to monitor and optimize AWS spending across accounts and regions, aligning technology usage with business value and governance.

You will analyze AWS Cost Explorer, Trusted Advisor, and CloudWatch metrics, partner with engineering to implement resource rightsizing, RI/Savings Plans strategies, and develop cost reports for stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Must have AWS Cloud Financial Management and cost optimization expertise.
• Experience with AWS Cost Explorer, Trusted Advisor, and CloudWatch.
• Familiar with FinOps frameworks and RI/Savings Plans strategy.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and optimize AWS cloud spending across all accounts and regions | Identify cost anomalies and implement corrective actions.
• Analyze AWS Cost Explorer, Trusted Advisor, and CloudWatch metrics to identify optimization opportunities and reserved instance recommendations.
• Partner with engineering teams to implement cloud optimization strategies including resource rightsizing, storage optimization, and compute efficiency.
• Manage AWS Reserved Instances (RIs) and Savings Plans strategy | Analyze utilization and recommend purchase decisions.
• Develop and maintain cloud cost allocation models, chargeback mechanisms, and cost governance frameworks | Create detailed cost reports and dashboards for stakeholder visibility.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Operating within the Cloud Infrastructure and Finance department and reporting to the Director of Cloud Operations, this position solves critical cloud financial inefficiencies by monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing enterprise-wide AWS spending to align technology consumption with business value and financial governance objectives.
