Job summary

Openwork in Houston, TX is hiring several Finishing Operators for a pipe, valve and flange company. The Finishing Operator will run a groover machine, groove pipe for 8 hours, and feed pipe (20' or 40') into the machine.

The role requires basic math and analytical skills, QC tooling experience, good communication, and the ability to multitask and work self-directed or as part of a team. Overtime and Saturdays may be required; background checks and drug tests are required.

Qualifications

• Moderate math and analytical skills.
• Experience in QC / QC Tooling.
• Good communication skills.
• Experience with/knowledge of Flanges, Fittings and Pipe a plus.
• Excellent work ethic: self-directed and team player.
• Ability to multitask.
• Self-starter and capable of working independently and in a team.
• Able to sit, stand, bend, reach, climb and move about the facility.
• Occasionally lift to 50 lbs.
• Overtime including Saturdays may be required.
• Background check and drug test required.

Now Hiring: Finishing Operator - Day Shift

Location: Houston, TX | 77051

Pay: $18-$19/hour

Schedule: 8:00pm - 5:00pm

Openwork is currently seeking severaldependable Finishing Operator for a well-established pipe, valve, flange company in Houston.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Machine operation "groover" machine.
• Grooving pipe for 8 hours.
• Runs pipe through machine - pipe is either 20' or 40' in length.
• Pipe is fed into machine from a nearby rack.
• Assist other team members when time allows.
• Any other duties as requested by respective supervisor and/or manager.

What We're Looking For:

• Moderate math and analytical skills.
• Experience in QC / QC Tooling.

• Experience with/Product knowledge with Flanges, Fittings and Pipe is a plus.

Physical demands and abilities:

• Experience on Sit-Down Forklift, Stand-up Reach Truck or Picker preferred.
• Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
• Regularly lift and/or move objects 10-50 lbs. occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 lbs.
• Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.
• Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus.
