Job summary

CCL Ind. in Sonoma, CA is seeking an Operator to run rewind and finishing equipment to finish product according to customer specifications. You will work with press operators and quality teams to ensure production of high-quality labels and proper packaging for shipment.

The role requires basic computer skills, reading and math ability, and mechanical/manufacturing experience. Responsibilities include setup coordination, quality checks, splicing, and documenting production data.

Responsibilities

• Ensure correct splice, rewind position and core tags.
• Assist with make-ready and wash-ups.
• Complete reports and enter data for documentation.

Job description

Basic Functions: Responsible for operating rewind and finishing equipment to inspect and slit and finish labels to customer specifications. Assists Senior Press Operators or Press Operators to produce quality labels and product according to order specifications.

MAIN DUTIES ARE:

• Reads order specifications, sets up rewind and finishing equipment to finishproduct and pack for shipment to customers.
• Coordinate set up activities with the press operator to be as efficient as possible .
• Works with Operators and Quality to ensure that production has manufacturedquality labels.
• Inspect and remove all defects, properly re-splice roll in compliance with qualityspecs.
• Ensure core tags and rewind position is correct as required by order .
• Ensure proper splice .
• Apply knowledge to check orders and ensure that all press work is up to companyand customer quality specifications.
• Packs product according to specifications .
• Assist operators with make ready and wash ups .
• Communicates effectively with all manufacturing personnel.
• Complete reports and enter data on jobs to provide accurate documentation oftime.
• Works overtime as needed.
• Performs other related duties as directed.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES ARE:

• Retrieve and enter information electronically as needed.
• Reports all machine problems to maintenance department personnel orsupervisor immediately.
• Keeps work area clean and orderly.
• Work with minimal amount of supervision.
• Observe all safety policies and procedures.
• Additional duties may be assigned, as needed

Work Experience requirements:

• Company provides on the job training and training courses.
• Flexographic experience helpful.

Skills:

• Reading and math above a high school level.
• Basic computer skills.
• Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternativesolutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
• Obtaining and seeing to the appropriate use of equipment, facilities, and materialsneeded to complete the printing job.
