Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safety first attitude and hold the crew accountable for the same attitude and behavior
  • Know at all times current condition of bar going on bed, know physicals, and their relation to speed and QTB
  • Prepare for pass changes, box changes and repairs etc during any down time
  • Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
  • Maintain a continuous focus on cost and ways to decrease waste and cost
  • Ensures that work area is clean, secure, and well maintained
  • Direct bundling operation to ensure correct bundle piece counts and number and position of ties
  • Participate in changeovers and resolving rolling mill upset conditions
Qualifications
  • Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment, with excellent strong work ethic, attention to detail, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work with exposure to extremes in temperature, chemical, dust fumes and mists, uneven surfaces, loud noise, elevated work areas, and confined spaces
  • Basic computer skills
  • Dependability in attendance, work completion, and flexibility to meet business needs
  • Must be able to learn quickly and multitask
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Work on a rotating shift which may include weekends and holidays
  • Ability to work overtime as required, including planned schedules and unplanned emergency situations
Your Education
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
