Job summary

Versant Health is seeking a Technician in the Finishing Lab to verify lens options, insert lenses into frames with hand tools, and perform quick cosmetic checks.

Qualifications

  • Use seg aligner to ensure correct multifocal alignment.
  • Verify all lens options (tint, UV, edge, polish, safety stamp) are applied.
  • Perform cosmetic inspection of eyewear and maintain work area cleanliness.

Technician, Finishing Lab (P)

Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 5pm - 3:30am

Hourly Rate: $17.80

Scope and Purpose of Position

Verifies all lens options have been properly applied. Inserts lenses into selected frame using hand tools according to work instructions and ensures the eyewear passes a quick cosmetic check. Performs other support functions within the assembly area to include basic upkeep of the area.

Essential Functions
  • Prioritize tray processing flow as dictated by color code system
  • Properly insert/secure lenses, visually align, set and torque small eyeglass screws
  • Adjust frames (heat/cool) and complete 4-point alignment
  • Use seg aligner to ensure that multifocal are properly aligned
  • Verify all lens options (tint, ultraviolet, edge, polish and safety stamp) have been applied.
  • Complete cosmetic inspection of all eyewear
  • Place completed tray in proper color coded areas located on work bench for further processing
  • Ability to communicate and elevate with peers and principles
  • May rotate among other functions within work cell
  • Ensure and maintain the cleanliness of all equipment, workstations and overall facility
  • Practice and comply with all requirements of our Quality Management System (QMS), prescribed safety and hazardous materials handling procedures, and Federal/State laws regulating hazardous and non-hazardous waste disposal
Education & Experience
  • High Diploma or GED preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of related manufacturing experience preferred
Competencies
  • Must be able to read English to understand written procedures, hazardous warning, etc.
  • Basic addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • Ability to think logically in following procedures and instructions
  • General problem solving abilities
  • Ability to work varying schedules to include nights, weekends, holidays and overtime

  • The noise level in this location is moderate (use of computers, printers and machines)
