Job summary

JNJ Apparel in Northport, AL is hiring for a role focused on bagging, tagging, and QC for screen printed orders. This position requires careful attention to detail and the ability to stand for long periods while maintaining accuracy in record keeping and reporting.

You will stage garments, tag, label, and prepare shipments, with starting pay at $12/hour for full-time and $10/hour for part-time, plus benefits. Overtime may be required during busy seasons.

Responsibilities

• Assist with staging garments from the press team until processing in the B&T department.
• Count and verify goods against work orders.
• Ensure shipped goods meet quality standards.
• Read and interpret work orders for B&T tasks.
• Hang tag garments as specified.
• Affix barcode labels to garments or bags.
• Load garments into the folding/bagging machine.
• Affix labels onto the bags as instructed.
• Prepare garments for shipping or pickup.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the B&T and shipping areas.
• Coordinate with Shipping to box orders for shipment.

Job description

Reports To: Outbound Manager

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm – overtime during busy seasons may be required and/or voluntary

Location: Northport, AL

Job Overview:

Primary focus will be completing the bag and tag functions related to screen printed orders. This role will require a high level of concentration and attention to detail. This includes the adherence to the quality control standards for garment hang tagging, folding, bagging, and shipping are met at every step of the process. Attention-to-detail in all record keeping and reporting is an integral part of this role as well.

Job Responsibilities – including but not limited to:

• Help with the proper staging of garments coming from the press team until the order is processed in the B&T department.
• Count and verify goods against press team information on work orders.
• Ensure quality of goods being shipped to customers.
• Reading and interpreting the information related to B&T tasks on the work orders to determine next steps.
• Hang tagging garments as specified.
• Properly affix barcode labels onto garments or bags.
• Loading garments properly into the garment folding/bagging machine.
• Affixing labels/stickers onto the bags as specified.
• Prepare garments for individual shipping, group shipping, and orders to be picked up.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the B&T and shipping departments.
• Work with Shipping as needed for boxing orders to be shipped.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Full Time Starting pay - $12/hour
