Job summary
The Bernard Group, Inc. is a visual merchandising company based in Chanhassen, MN, proudly 100% employee-owned. We are seeking a Finisher for our Millwork team to produce high-quality finished wood products efficiently and cost-effectively.
Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma or GED and 1–2 years of wood finishing or paint experience. Shift is Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, with competitive pay and strong benefits under a collaborative team culture.

Responsibilities
- Apply finishing materials to wood and substrates.
- Maintain spray booth cleanliness and OSHA safety.
- Monitor quality control during finishing.
- Complete QC checks and hazardous waste logs.
- Set up production spray lines and assist in training.
- Complete various tasks as assigned by management.

We are looking for a Finisher to join our Millwork team. This position performs finishing operations to produce high-quality finished wood products in an efficient and cost-effective manner
- a High School Diploma or GED
- 1-2 years of wood finishing or paint related experience is preferred but not required
- make the right call with quality decisions, good judgment and keen problem-solving skills in determining better, more efficient work flows with the same high-quality standard
- drive results, take initiative and be action-oriented by applying time management and self-management skills every day in order to meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude
- be accountable and take ownership of work commitments in meeting clients’ expectations and timelines
- collaborate and embrace the “Art of the Team” by working with coworkers in order to get the work done on-time and within budget
- have a passion for excellence and drive for quality in all that the team produces
- apply finishing materials including paints, stains, varnishes, lacquers, and polyurethanes to wood and other substrates
- maintain spray booth cleanliness, organization and an OSHA safe working environment
- monitor quality control during the finishing process
- ensure all of the necessary paperwork is filled out, including job related QC checks and hazardous waste logs
- complete time studies and material estimates as needed
- be setting up production spray lines
- assist in the training and development of your co-workers
- perform miscellaneous projects and complete various tasks as requested by management
- able to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing. Strong interpersonal skills including, demonstrated listening skills and the ability to present ideas and thoughts concisely and effectively both internally and outside the organization
- willing to admit when you make a mistake (it happens to the best of us)
