Job description

Position Overview

As part of the talented Thunder Jet team, you will perform installation of various components in Thunder Jet boats while working in a large manufacturing facility. A variety of installation tasks are performed building the front, middle, and back of each boat using power and non‑power hand tools while working from specifications and schematic drawings.

Essential Functions
  • Apply high energy, self‑motivation, and initiative to learn and be trained on several types of equipment and processes.
  • Must be able to read drawings and specifications.
  • Be able to use hand tools including sanders, measuring tape, box cutters, adhesive sprayer, and buffer.
  • Prepare boat as needed for the next department.
  • Daily job duties will be varied and dynamic at entry level.
  • Workload will be tracked via daily schedules and assignments requiring responsibility and accountability for quality and timeliness of completion.
  • Compliance with safety policies and procedures is required, as well as identifying risks and hazards prior to job completion.
  • Requires standing, bending and twisting for a 10‑hour shift in the paint area. Lifting and working overhead within prescribed safety limitations. Working at heights: work platforms; etc. Working inside paint booths in all weather conditions (extreme heat).
  • Practice good housekeeping.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Ability to follow established safety process to handle equipment to install components for the boats.
  • Detail and organized.
  • Good safety awareness, attitude, and attendance. Self‑starter and a team player.
  • Ability to listen and learn processes in a timely manner.
Preferred Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Three months’ experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred, but willing to train.
  • Knowledge of drills, drivers, rivet guns, saws, sanders, and hammers.
  • Ability in basic math, reading and being able to read a tape measure.
  • Computer skills preferred.
  • Knowledge of 5S, Kaizen, and LSS a plus.
Working Conditions
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk, hear, see, sit, and use arms, hands, and fingers.
  • The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, climb, balance, and use arms and hands to reach, pull, push, clasp, and move a variety of materials.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • The noise level is moderate to high in the manufacturing setting.
Compensation

The anticipated pay range for this position is grade 2 $19.20-$20.20 hourly. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job‑related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location.
